Often I’m asked "How can I find a great designer for my website?" I often will just refer them to my designer, Jesse Petersen of Petersen Media Group. He designed my site, did my Twitter skin, and does much of the behind the scenes things I can’t figure out on my own.
How did I pick Jesse, and how can you find yourself a great designer for yourself?
I decided to go right to the source and ask a designer how to find a great website designer, because great designers have to hire other great designers to work with them on larger projects and because they’ve had great questions asked of them to prove that they can do what they do.
So on a recent trip to Tampa, I asked Jesse Petersen of Petersen Media Group about these tips, and he was kind enough to share his thoughts in a 3 minute video.

The highlights of the tips Jesse provided:
1) The designer’s website is complete and has a portfolio page with testimonials
2) The designer must speak/write at your level
3) The designer must respond to your first request quickly and express interest in your project
4) The designer must offer you multiple options and explain why each option could work for your needs
Take 3 minutes, watch the video, and listen to Jesse expand on these tips to help you find a great designer.
