How to Create 10 Best Selling Books

by Phil Gerbyshak on October 16, 2009

I am an unapologetic fan of Seth Godin. I have read every one of his books and ebooks, his was the first blog I ever read (on accident), read almost every one of his blog posts, own his CD set, and have even gotten to talk to Seth on the phone for an interview for one of his books. His books are great, and have helped me think about many things in the world differently.  And though I don’t agree with Seth on EVERYTHING, I do enjoy his work and appreciate the fact he writes on his blog every day.

The video above is like a "best of" Seth Godin. He talks about why his books did so well, and they are all things YOU could do. It’s little over 30 minutes long, and is worth every second you spend watching it.

My take on this video: Don’t do things exactly how Seth does them. Instead, take his ideas and put them to work on YOUR ideas.

If you’re reading via RSS or e-mail, you may need to click here to watch the video.

Questions for you:

What’s your favorite Seth Godin book or idea?

How can you put your favorite idea into action in YOUR business and in YOUR life?

Hi Phil .. that was extremely interesting and I’m glad I’ve had time to sit and listen to it .. and make notes: my way of remembering a bit more.

I always remembered his Purple Cow book – never bought it .. just the name always rings a bell .. didn’t know it was sold in a milk carton – that was really interesting; I have meatball sundae here .. someone gave it to me ..

Thanks so much .. I hope others pick up this post and enjoy Seth’s video and his concept/s .. food for thought .. but not meatball sundae ..!

All the best – Hilary Melton-Butcher

Glad you found this Phil: I have heard this talk before, but without the video picture, so this will be a highly enjoyable review for me. First time I listened to it I stopped it frequently to jot down some action steps, and you’re right: If you listen planning to adapt to your own needs you’ll find there is gold in this.
Thanks!

Thanks Phil. Just watched the video and really got me thinking. As a still relatively new blogger (and definitely an amateur at that), a wannabe published author, and a public speaker — lots of relevant and thought provoking content here. Thanks so much for sharing! TM

I am now subscribed to your website and look forward to keeping in touch with you….I know your a very busy man, but I was hoping you could point me in the right direction with two things….1) How would you suggest that I get start with public speaking ? and 2) Where would you suggest that I get started when trying to publish 1 of my 2 books (already written), they need the once over and publishing….

Any help, support and direction would be GREATLY APPRECIATED !

Enjoy the remainder of your 2009 year and it was a pleasure to have met you….
