I know this is several years old but I was searching creating your own mantra online and found this websight. I used to be a Nichiren Buddhist(I was a Soka Gakkai member for about 4 years but thankfully left). Chanting from the Lotus Sutra worked wonders for me. I still agree with the worldview as far as the mechanics of how chanting works, but when I really delved into the theology(not SGI's version, but taking the theology as it was written by Nichiren), I couldn't accept a lot of the claims anymore than I could accept the claims of Christianity. So I became a Secular Humanist/Atheist(basically SGI's teachings without the teachings about the afterlife). I created my mantra as Nam-why-logo. Nam-devotion, Why-people have been killed for asking this question, and finally Logo(s)-greek for Logic. I also downloaded colorful cool looking mandalas that look like computers, or the stargate, or super advanced technology. I chant for 2 hours per day. I also use self talk(NLP), and I feel care free. Chanting is awsome!

I have been reading up on mantras- I favor yours because its simplistic. iam teaching Domestic Violence awareness to victim survivors. Part of this class to to create or recreate self worth, i am a huge fan of mantras and affirmation! So thank you!

Love this one : )

I know you are "Making It Great" every time I read your blog. I have been encouraged, reminded and kindly educated with every post. I love that your "Big Hairy Goal" was "everything!" If you fall short of everything and end up with a lot...not too bad.

I am going to be bringing your Mantra concept to my business partners and non-profit group. We actively live our Mantra but have never sat down and defined as you did. I think this is well worth our time to do. I really appreciate the way you broke it down into simple easy steps.

Thanks for all the info and insight. I always look forward to your post.
