Film Loop of Motivational Speakers

After seeing Guy Kawasaki speak at Friday’s eInnovate session in Milwaukee, I realized I have collected more than a few pictures of motivational speakers, so I thought I’d put together a little Film Loop of what I’ve collected. I’ll be adding more as I get more pictures.

Please note: If you’re reading via RSS reader, you’ve got to click through to see the loop.

Make it a great day!

Watch Seth Godin: FREE!

Seth just posted a neat video: Live at Google. The speech is based off of his great book "All Marketers are Liars", one of my favorite marketing books. I’m watching and listening to it as I write this.

Go check it out, and you just might learn something!

Make it a great day!

How to Get a Standing Ovation (courtesy of Guy Kawasaki, with follow-up)

The master marketing guru has done it again. 2 amazing posts about how to get a standing ovation when you give a speech.

Part 1: How to Get a Standing Ovation
My favorite? Pre-circulate with the audience. If people like you, they will root for you, and they will clap for you, and you will KILL!

Part 2: Addendum to How to Get a Standing Ovation
My favorite here? 2 really.
a) Toastmasters is GREAT, especially if you’re new to public speaking. If you’re near Milwaukee, I invite you to visit the club I belong to.
b) Keep it simple. As Einstein said, things should be as simple as possible, and no simpler.

Great tips here for all of us who are aspiring speakers. Thank you Guy! If you keep pumping out content like this every day, you will amaze us all. Personally, I’d love to see Guy tag the articles he reads in del.icio.us and automatically post them to his blog, for those days when he doesn’t feel like posting. Instructions on how to are here.

Make it a great day and get a standing ovation or 2 for your next speech!

2 Articles from Jim Cathcart

Not sure if you’ve read anything by Jim Cathcart, creator of The Acorn Principle, but he has recently published 2 fantastic articles on his blog: 15 Powerful Ways to Grow Your Business This Year and 11 Powerful Ways to Expand Your Life This Year. Both are filled with great ideas on how you can make it a great 2006. I recommend you check them out, and check out Jim’s blog. While doesn’t write frequently, adding him to your RSS reader will ensure you get his stuff anytime he posts, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy each post he does make.

At the very least, I encourage you to subscribe to Jim’s weekly “Acorn E-Letter,” packed with great tips and only sent once a week. I’ve been getting it for over a year, and I always take something away from it.

Make it a great day!

Newsletters I Subscribe To

Someone once asked me, "Phil, how many newsletters do you subscribe to?" I honestly have never been able to answer that question, because I never took the time to find out.

But right now, for the first time…I’ve taken the time to wade through a few thousand e-mails from over the past few months of newsletters, and have compiled a list of many of the ones I subscribe to. I say many, because I still have many more to slog through, but I hope this list is useful to you on your journey to personal greatness. I must be honest, I don’t read all of these as they come in, but I set up a separate gmail account just for these newsletters so when I need inspiration, I can quickly search through all the previous editions and get the shot in the arm I need.

Make It a Great Day with one or more of these newsletters,
Phil
